Recommended Isochronic Tone
Listening to a brainwave entrainment recording can make it easier to relax and quieten the mind when meditating. I like using the theta and alpha isochronic meditation recordings from The Unexplainable Store. Alpha is best for light meditation, and theta for entering a deep state of trance. I personally prefer the versions without bells and music, but you can preview all the tracks to see which you like best.

Many people feel like they’re going through life alone, and flying blind as it were, with no real idea what to do when they hit a rough patch. It doesn’t have to be like this however – did you know that there’s a reliable and infallible source of inner guidance available to everyone who cares to tune into it?
Some people refer to this inner wisdom as their spirit guide, and perceive it as something like a guardian angel or other non-physical entity that offers guidance from its broader perspective. Others experience the guidance as originating in their subconscious minds. Whatever the source, the existence and value of this inner wisdom is recognised by cultures around the world, and spirit guides were important figures in the myths of the Greeks and other ancient peoples.
A person who has tapped into this limitless source of advice and support no longer has to figure everything out from their limited human perspective. Instead they receive inspiration and insight that points out the best way ahead even in the most difficult situations. It goes without saying that having access to this kind of guidance makes life a whole lot easier, and is a great source of comfort and security for many.

How To Connect With Your Spirit Guide
So, how do you start communicating with your spirit guide? Sometimes people receive messages in their dreams, or spontaneous insights as they go about their daily lives. While these occurrences are very valuable, it’s also good to be able to tune into your guidance at will, rather than passively waiting for it to surface.
While there are various specific methods you can use to this end, such as visualisation or self-hypnosis, the key to all of these is to learn to quiet your mind and go within, so the voice of your guidance can be heard. This is necessary because all too often your guide’s subtle messages are drowned out by the racket of everyday thoughts, or blocked by the conscious mind. By quieting your thoughts, space is made for information from your spirit guide to surface and be heard.
However, this is easier said than done for many people. Most of us have never been taught anything about meditation or mind control – and as a result we live with a constant stream of thoughts and mental chatter. Those who do learn to meditate often find it takes many months or even years of practice before they start to achieve any kind of mastery over their own minds.
Does that mean it’ll be years before you can develop a reliable connection with your spirit guide? Fortunately, the answer is no, thanks to isochronic tones and other methods of brainwave entrainment, which can help you to get into the right mental state relatively quickly, without needing to become an expert meditator first.
How Does Brainwave Entrainment Work?
In case you’re not already familiar with brainwave entrainment (which is also known as brainwave synchronization or brainwave stimulation), this is a simple yet powerful process that you can carry out at home with the aid of some inexpensive recordings.
Brainwave entrainment refers to the brain’s natural tendency to synchronise with (or entrain to) rhythmic stimuli - such as sounds - that oscillate at a similar rate to its natural frequency range. By exposing it to a suitable stimulus, the brain will match its frequency. Since brainwaves of different frequencies are associated with different mental states, brainwave synchronisation can be used to access these varied states at will. In this way you can control your state of consciousness without having to spend years practicing mind control methods.
Brainwave entrainment recordings fall into three categories: binaural beats (the most well-known), monaural beats and isochronic tones. These methods work differently, but all are effective. Many people prefer isochronic tones, as they’ve been found to be more effective at entraining the brain quickly and easily. They also don’t require the use of headphones, unlike binaural beats. Connecting With Your Spirit Guide Using Brainwave Synchronization
We noted earlier how you need to quiet your mind to become more receptive to messages from your spirit guide. In terms of brain states, this means entering a state where your brain is predominantly producing brainwaves in the theta band (4 – 8 Hz). This happens naturally in dreaming sleep, and meditators may also enter the theta region when awake. It is experienced as a kind of trance state, in which your thoughts slow down or stop, and you’re open to receiving insights from your subconscious mind.
However, thanks to brainwave entrainment you can now enter the theta brainwave state quite easily even if you don’t know how to meditate. By listening to a recording that is specially designed to help you access this part of your consciousness, you can more easily enter a trance, quiet your conscious mind, and be open to receiving guidance from within.
It’s important to use a high quality recording that you enjoy. Personally I really like the theta meditation recording from The Unexplainable Store (this site does also have a special spirit guide track, but I haven't tried that myself). But all the recordings are guaranteed for eight weeks, so you can see what works for you.
These recordings are available in a choice of binaural, monaural and isochronic formats. You can also download some samples for free, to see which type you like best!
